Halfpipe

The Halfpipe originates from skateboarding. The whole idea is now used in Snowboarding in a snow covered structure. The Halfpipe is a U-shaped bowl that Snowboard riders can move back and forth from one wall to the other while moving down the fall line. The opposing walls are of the same height and size. The Snowboarder uses the Halfpipe to make jumps and perform Snowboarding Tricks.

The Halfpipe is a competitive Snowboarding event. Judges score according to the precise way that you land the Snowboard, balance, height, spins, flips, speed and the level of attempts at a wide variety of manoeuvres and tricks. The challenge is to jump higher and higher, getting as much air as possible, performing tricky manoeuvres and then trying to land the board as smoothly as possible.

Gliding in the halfpipe is the most spectacular form of snowboarding. The thrill and the play with gravity are fascinating in this variation. Everyone who is addicted to adrenaline will enjoy the halfpipe immensely...
