Utah Ski Resorts Where You Can Snowboard

The two main Utah Ski Resorts are Alta and Snowbird. You will find them 12 miles southeast of Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. The season runs from November to April. The Alta field covers 2200 acres and Snowbird covers 2500 acres. The vertical rise of Alta is 2100 feet and Snowbird is 3240 feet. They receive an average annual snowfall of 500 to 550 inches.

These Utah Ski Resorts are situation in the Little Cottonwood Canyon. The first lift in Utah was installed at Brighton in 1936. The first lift in Alta in 1939. The region is well known for receiving plenty of snow and was a base for the development of powder skiiing.
