Snowboarding

Well now, what is this thing they call snowboarding? People strapping themselves to a board and hurling themselves off down
the snow slopes...

Well when you look at skiing that must be even harder you have two planks that can even get tangled and sometimes hit one on the head - speaking from experience here - so really the person who thought of snowboarding was probably just a frustrated skiier who thought of a better way!!

And now look at it - one fast growing sport with an ardent following (even though some fields ban snowboarders).

Now, I have looked at why there has been some reluctance on the part of the skiing fraternity to accept snowboarders. Is it their dress, the long baggy trousers? Or the learners boarding over the field and out of control - but then skiiers can do that too?
I would love to hear some feedback from anyone and an opinion or two as to why the fields restrict access to boarders....
